Skilled Independent (Permanent) Visa

This visa represents the highest level of permanent skilled migration, as it is independent and does not require sponsorship or state nomination. You may be eligible for this visa subclass if you meet the points test criteria.

Following an initial assessment, Alpha Legal Group can determine if the Skilled Independent visa is suitable for you. We will also assess whether your qualifications and work experience align with any of the nominated occupations listed on the Skilled Occupations List (SOL), in line with Australia’s immigration objectives.

Skilled Nominated (Permanent) Visa

This visa subclass offers another permanent residency option for skilled workers but requires state nomination. To qualify, the occupation you intend to apply for must be nominated or sponsored by the relevant state at the time of your application.

Our registered migration team at Alpha Legal Group will prepare and submit a proposal to an Australian state or territory government agency to apply for state sponsorship. This may provide additional points for the Points Test and give your application priority processing and entry.

Skilled Regional (Provisional) Visa

The Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa is a temporary, four-year residence visa for skilled workers who do not meet the criteria for the Skilled Independent or Skilled Nominated visas. This visa allows the main applicant and their family to live and work in designated regional areas of Australia.

If you meet all eligibility requirements, you may be eligible to apply for the permanent Skilled Regional visa. This visa can lead to permanent residency, provided the eligibility criteria for the permanent visa are satisfied.

Skilled Employer Sponsored (Regional) Visa

The Skilled Employer Sponsored (Regional) visa allows regional employers to address labour shortages by sponsoring skilled workers when they cannot find a suitably skilled Australian workers.

This visa replaced the RSMS visa (subclass 187) and began on November 16, 2019, with 10,000 places allocated annually. It requires sponsorship from a regional employer, and the position must be likely to exist for at least five years. The visa has an age limit of 45 years (with exemptions), requires competent English, RCB advice, and must meet the AMSR. Applicants must also have a suitable skills assessment and at least three years of skilled employment.

Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa

The Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa has replaced the Temporary Work (Skilled) visa (subclass 457). The TSS visa program supports Australian businesses facing genuine skill shortages by allowing them to hire skilled workers when suitable Australian workers are unavailable.

You must demonstrate that you meet the minimum English language proficiency requirements, with the required scores varying based on the visa stream you are applying for. You must also provide evidence that the required scores were achieved in a single test attempt and that the test was taken no more than three years prior to applying for the visa.

Employer Nomination Scheme

We can assess your eligibility for this visa and guide you through the application process if you have been nominated by an Australian business.

The Employer Nomination Scheme (permanent work visa) offers three available streams for applicants:

  • Temporary Residence Transition Stream
  • Direct Entry Stream
  • Agreement Stream

Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) Visa

We can guide you on how to apply for this permanent residency visa if you wish to live and work in a region classified as Regional Australia. We will advise you on the areas currently designated under this scheme and assess your eligibility for the visa.
